From the first day of menstruation , one ovary starts to produce ,they grow till one become dominant at about day 14 of a women with a regular cycle, it ruptures and the ovum inside it will be released and taken from the surface of the ovary by the fallopian tube.
The ovum stands in the tube for one day waiting for fertilization .
Millions of sperms reach the surface of the ovum but only one sperm succeeds to penetrate it.
Once the ovum is fertilized no other sperm can penetrate.
The fertilized ovum starts to divide to form blastocyst.
After few days the blastocyst reaches the uterus and spends another few days before it implants in the thickened endometrium which is now a good home for your baby.
Implantation may occur 7-12 days after fertilization.
The ovum carries its own food inside its cells then it takes its food from the fluid in the endometrium and the surrounding maternal tissue.
So pregnancy starts 2weeks before the date of the expected menstruation .
The human pregnancy is 40 weeks from the first day of last mentrual period.
From the mid cycle when pregnancy occurs nothing to confirm pregnacy except near the coming menstruation. If it is delayed even for one day ,so pregnancy has occured before 2 weeks.
Pregnancy test is the first to detect pregnancy, using morning urine ( concentrated hormones ).

After implantation of the blastocyct the cells divide into two parts
*The first part will form the baby
*the second part will form the placenta
After one week
The cells which will form the baby will arrange in 3 layers
*Outer layer will form ( skin - hair - teeth - nose - ear - nose - urethera )
*Middle layer will form ( muscle - blood - kidney )
*Inner layer will form ( liver - pancreas -trachea )
The cells which will form the placenta will start to invade the uterus to form the placenta
How does the baby seem in the ultrasound
A gestational sac with double layer is seen inside the endometrial cavity
